Back Up The Brink’s Truck!

Today we found 3.59 in coin and 30 bottles and cans.

Talk about ending the month with a bang! We had a banner day, not only in finding money but also with an all-time record for a single month with returnables. Then we topped it off with a huge field hockey win against bitter rival Deering! This day could not have been any better!

On the money front – While at the Deering this morning, I found a penny over by the concession stand prior to the game. That wasn’t the headline though. Having never beaten Deering in Michele’s tenure as varsity coach, she’s been on the end of some really tough losses including a 1-0 loss in the semi-finals 3 years. Well my friends, all that was erased today. The Mustangs, at one point down 3-0 at the half, and then 4-2 with 8 minutes left to play came back and tied the game, and in double overtime scored the winning goal. Take my word for it, this was the most exciting game I’ve watched over the last 4 years with this team and truly one for the ages.

Anyway, back to the money details – Michele found a dime in the high school parking walking out to her car. Finally, we took Lexi for an evening walk and that’s when we really hit the jackpot. We picked up a total for 3.47 at the car wash, one of our bigger days there. There were several quarters, dimes and lots of pennies in the mix (see picture). The only other penny of the walk came on Witham Street.

Stormy Weather!

Today we found 33 cents and 67 bottles and cans.

We had a really bad round of thunderstorms come through the area around 2:30 pm or so.
There were some super heavy downpours and some serious lightning as well. There was also a report of possible tornado touchdown just south of here in the Berwick area. Yikes! An hour later though the cell passed and it became clear and sunny but with a chill in the air.

Even with the bad weather, it didn’t stop us of hitting the roads once it passed. I didn’t have as much time to hunt due to things like shopping and other errands, however, I did get out for the evening walk with Lexi. I found a total of 3 cents during the walk, plus a good amount of retunables for the kitty. The first 2 pennies were found at the car wash on the ground next to a vacuum and in one of the self wash bays. Penny number 3 was found at the high school parking lot. As I was leaving the car wash Michele met up with us (she knows our route well) and we walked up Main Street together though we didn’t come up with any other finds. She did however find 30 cents at school (3 dimes) in the halls (hooray!).

Sidebar – with one day left in the month we are 9 bottles and cans away from breaking the all-time month total of 2043 (Set ironically in Sept, 2005). I wasn’t sure if it was going to happen, but with today’s good luck I would say it’s pretty a much a certainty.

Some Work And Lots Of Play!

Today we found 79 cents and 58 bottles and cans.

Our money-finding ways continued once again on a beautiful Friday. Michele found one penny on her early morning walk with Lexi. She forgot to give me the details though of where she found it. Then, during my run I found a penny on cash corner (Pleasant Street). That area just keeps producing on a regular basis.

Next, before mowing the lawn and weed whacking the back yard, I decided to head out for an early afternoon bike ride. The first part of the bike ride was chosen to gather up some bottles, for that, it was a ride up the Oak Street hill. It’s a fairly steep ascent but both sides are usually plentiful with returnables as was the case today. Then, on the second half of the bike ride I in search of money, but also for the occasional bottle and can. I managed to come up with 42 cents; most of it (32 cents) came from the Depot parking lot. It’s a variety store and there always seems to be money lying about. The remaining coin of the ride was found on Witham Street. It was pretty old looking (dime), probably washed out from the last heavy rain we had.

Finally, after finishing up the yard work, Lexi and I went out for our evening walk. We were able to come up with 35 cents. Our first finds came at the car wash, 8 cents (1 nickel and 3 pennies). Then at the high school I found one penny in the parking lot. At the Cumberland Farms, I snagged another 25 cents (2 dimes and 1 nickel) while an old lady watched me from her car. And last but not least, I found a single penny at the skateboard park.

Cap update – Here’s the new point totals for the coke rewards and power aid promotions: Coke rewards – 1503 and Power aid – 537. We’ve had some good luck picking these babies up and we’re looking forward to cashing in on a couple of nice rewards.

A Little Here, A Little There!

Today we found 44 cents and 45 bottles and cans.

During my journeys and travels I was able to amass a small fortune today. After stopping by the post office to mail out some packages, I went for an extended bike ride around the town. I came up with 3 cents, all of them were found in front of the Mill Street store. I did snag a few returnables as well.

After finishing up my run I decided to a take a cool-down walk up at Holdsworth Park. While there I found 2 pennies in the gravel parking lot. Then, on the evening walk with Lexi I was able to come with 37 cents. The first two coins came at the car wash, 11 cents (1 dime and 1 penny). Next, I picked up 16 cents in the high school parking lot (1 dime, 1 nickel and 1 penny). Finally, I snagged 11 cents on the way up Main Street by Jim’s Alignment (1 dime and 1 penny). I did also find a students purse at the high school and returned it.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Today we found 33 cents and 12 bottles and cans.

Tuesday was a busy one for me. I had to take our cat to the vets again for a checkup. Then I went to Michele’s field hockey game against rival Sanford, which they lost, ugh! But, even with those things taking up a good amount of time during the day, there was still time for coin hunting.

Michele started it off in the morning by finding 16 cents on the walk. I didn’t get the details on where she found the loot though. Prior to the vets appointment, I got my run in, and in doing so I found a nickel on Main Street. Then, on the evening walk with Lexi I found a total of 12 cents. The first coin was found at the car wash in the form of a penny. Then, coming out of Frost Street headed toward Main I picked up 11 cents (1 dime and 1 penny) in the Subway parking lot, which was on the corner.

Extending The Rally!

Today we found 73 cents and 16 bottles and cans.

We had some pretty good success on the roads today. All of the coin finding came late in the day though. On the evening walk with Lexi I found a total of 37 cents. The first find came at the corner of Oak and Main Street in the form of a dime. Next, I found a dime in the high school parking lot. At the car wash I scooped up another 8 cents, all pennies that were scattered about in the vacuum areas. Then in the 7-11 parking lot I found another 9 cents, again all pennies.

Near the library I met up with Michele who had finished up her run and walked down to meet us. She found at a total of 36 cents (1 quarter, 1 dime and 1 penny). Two of the finds came on Mill Street, and the final find of a quarter came on Grove Street.

The Smell Of Leather!

Today we found 70 cents and 320 bottles and cans.

Storyline of the day: Wallet number 4 found. Yes, that’s right, on my Sunday run on the streets of Springvale I came across a wallet lying on the ground. It was just up from the Mill Street store. When I saw it I stopped and picked it up. The 3 previous times I’ve found wallets they were picked clean and each time I returned them to their owner. With valuables like credit cards, insurance cards and license I know they were happy to get them back. This time however, much to my surprise, there was money, 33 dollars to be exact (see picture). I’m half tempted to keep the money and return the wallet. Anyway, I’m not counting the 33 dollars toward the total, as it just wouldn’t be right.

The rest of the day was that bad though. Michele found 25 cents on her morning walk with Lexi, all of it was found on Allen Street (2 dimes and 1 nickel). On our short but productive evening walk we found another 45 cents, this time all of the finds came from the car wash (4 dimes and 1 nickel). We also had a banner day for the bottles and cans with a 300 plus day.

No Surprises!

Today we found 48 cents and 46 bottles and cans.

While we didn’t find anything unusual today, we did have good luck on the byways of our little town. Michele started out the action on her morning walk with Lexi. She found a total 18 cents on her walk. The first 15 cents came at the skateboard park, on top of one of the ramps (1 dime and 1 nickel). The next 2 coins, both pennies were found at Jim’s Alignment. The last coin was found on Main Street heading home.

On the evening walk we came up with another 30 cents. The first finds came at the high school, in the parking lot, 16 cents (1 dime, 1 nickel and 1 penny). We also cashed in at the car wash with another 13 cents (1 dime, and 3 pennies). Last but not least, we found another penny at Jim’s alignment.

Material Things!

Today we found 53 cents and 20 bottles and cans.

Friday was an unusually profitable day in more ways than one. As I mentioned earlier in some of my entries, you never know what you’re going to find or where you’ll find it. That’s the beauty of the hunt and many times there are nice surprises and today was no exception.

On the morning walk with Lexi, Michele found one penny, located in the rite aid parking lot. Then, while returning bottles and cans at the local recycling center, I spotted a roll of pennies lying on the ground. While not a huge find, it was the first time I had found of roll of coin, which was exciting. After watching Michele’s field hockey game at Noble (tough loss), I headed back home to take Lexi for her evening walk. We found 2 cents, the first of which came at the 7-11 parking lot. Then we found one penny headed up Main Street on the way home. The highlight of the walk though was finding a pair of Oakley Sunglasses at the car wash (see picture). They were left behind on one of the island where the vacuums are. Needless to say, I was thrilled to find them. I already own 2 pair but a third pair for free doesn’t hurt!

Walking, Running, and Biking!

Today we found 54 cents and 87 bottles and cans.

As most of you might already know from reading my short bio, I’m a runner. I’ve slowly been getting myself back into shape. My plan is to be up around 50 miles a week coming into the Spring months and then start competing on the Northeast road race circuit once again. But that’s not the only way I stay in shape these days. Walking and biking are 2 other ways I keep the blood pumping, plus, I also greatly improve my chances for coin recovery as well. Read on for the details!

News from the money hunt – Michele started out the day with 11 cents. The first coin, a penny was found in the rite aid parking lot. Then, she found a dime at the hair cutters on Main Street, just across from the library. As for me, well, on my run I didn’t find anything but I get in a 2-miler and that puts in the mid-twenties for the week. I needed to ship out 3 packages so I rode my bike down to the post office. After mailing the packages I went for short bike ride around town. I was able to find 28 cents. All of the finds came at the cash corner (pleasant street), 1 quarter, and 3 pennies.

Finally, during my evening walk with Lexi, I found another 15 cents. The first find was at the car wash, a single penny. Then, at the high school, I also found 1 penny. The last of the finds came just up from the car wash on the opposite side of Main Street. I found a group of 13 pennies all close together. Apparently someone decided they didn’t need the change. I say, “Thank you very much”.

Sidebar – I meant to add this a couple of days ago but I kept forgetting. As of 9/17/06, we officially went over the 10,000 mark for returnable bottles and cans. This mark eclipses our record from last year and we did it in less than 5 months, truly amazing.

Track Workout!

Today we found 17 cents and 55 bottles and cans.

Michele asked me if I would come over to the school and run the mile on the track with the field hockey girls. Since I was supposed to run it the first time they had it, back in August, I wanted to make sure I showed up. In the first group, there was one girl who I wanted me to help her run faster, so I decided to be the rabbit/pacer. We achieved her goal of running somewhere in the 6:30 range, 6:32 to be exact. In the second group I was on my own which meant running faster for me. I came through the mile at 6:09 and left everyone in the dust. Pretty sad when a 44 year old guy and can outdistance an entire high school field hockey team that’s supposed to be in shape.

On the money the front – Michele picked up 2 pennies on her 30-minute walk with Lexi. After I got back from the track, I went out on the evening walk with Lexi and found a total of 11 cents. The first coin, a dime was found in the 7-11 parking lot, and the penny was found on Main Street while heading home. Michele also found 4 pennies on her run, all on Main Street near the church and Nasson College.

Another warm one!

Today we found 61 cents and 48 bottles and cans.

Though not quite as warm today, we had to endure another above average September day. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Indian summer weather, but starting tomorrow we’ll return to a more seasonal trend. Even now, the front is pushing through with some heavy rain. Who knows, maybe we’ll get one more hot streak!

Speaking of streaks, we continue to find good fortune on the streets of Springvale/Sanford, and occasionally other nearby towns. Most of the action came on the evening walk with Lexi where we found 11 cents. The first four pennies came at the car wash scattered about on the ground. Then, at the high school we found 6 cents (1 nickel and 1 penny). The last of the finds came at the old reliable 7-11 in the form of a penny. The remaining 50 cents was found by Michele at the school, right before field hockey practice; she found 2 quarters on the field.

Indian Summer!

Today we found 67 cents and 16 bottles.

It was a beautiful late summer day here in the great state of Maine. I think this is the last hurray though as the changing of seasons is underway. Some of the trees are starting to turn and the nights are getting cooler. Still, I made sure to get out and enjoy by attending Michele’s field hockey game plus a run and a bike ride. Michele’s team won, the run went well and the bike ride was enjoyable.

On the money front – The first coins of the day came on my run, a 3-miler in which I snagged a dime and a penny on Allen St to bring the total to 11 cents. Next, after returning home from the game, I took Lexi for a walk. The only 2 coins I found were at the car wash, both quarters! Finally, on the evening bike ride I picked up 6 cents. The first find was a penny at rite aid, and then I found a nickel at Subway.

The Weekend Update!

Good evening to all of my fellow change hunters out there. The weekend was another successful endeavor in the search for change and other valuables.

On Saturday, Michele was able to find 2 pennies on her walk with Lexi, one which came on Mill Street and one on Harris. I found 2 pennies on my run, both at cash corner (Pleasant Street). We then found 1 penny on our abbreviated walk. We had a 25th anniversary party to attend and time was short but we still got it in. On the way home we stopped at the car wash and picked up the rest of the coinage (1 nickel and 22 pennies).

On Sunday, Michele had better success on her early morning walk with Lexi. She found 35 cents, most of it was found on Mill Street right next next to the store (3 dimes and 3 pennies). The other 2 pennies came at the corner of Allen and Pleasant. Then, during my run, I picked up one penny during my 6-miler on Main St. The last penny was found at the car wash. We did also find an interesting chain (see picture) plus bottles and cans galore!

It's Friday!

Today we found 32 cents and 38 bottles and cans.

While we haven’t had a really big money day lately, the amounts we’re finding are steady, and we continue to add to the total daily. The first 3 cents of the day were found at the post office. I was there to mail a package and noticed the 3 pennies left behind by a previous customer on the counter. Next, on the evening walk, I managed to pick up another 13 cents. The first coin was on Main Street, then I found a dime in the High School parking lot. One penny was found behind Memorial Gym and one penny came from the car wash.

About a ½ mile from home I met up with Michele who had just finished up a run and was walking down to meet us. She handed over 13 cents which she found on Mill Street (1 dime and 3 pennies). The last 3 cents of the day came on my evening bike ride. I haven’t had a chance to go for one lately so I made the extra effort after dinner. I found one cent in the rite aid parking lot, one cent in the 7-11 parking lot and one cent in the Key Bank drive thru.

Before The Rain!

Today we found 25 cents and 43 bottles and cans.

Most of our coin finding ventures today took place prior to the rain moving in. Michele found one penny on her walk with Lexi though I didn’t get the details from her on where she found it. A little later, while at the post office to mail a couple of packages, I found a dime on the floor just in front of the clerk’s counter.

Finally, on the evening walk with our little bo-bo, I was able to scoop up 11 cents, 1 dime came from the high school and one penny was found on Main St. The last 3 cents of the total were found in 2 different areas. Michele found 2 pennies at school, and I found one penny at Hannaford’s Supermarket, just below one of the change counters.

Hump Day!

Today we found 15 cents and 15 bottles and cans.

This week has really been a busy one for me. I’ve been doing tons of buying as well as selling on ebay, and as a result of that, I’ve spent a decent amount of time adding new items to my inventory as well as shipping out those items which have been sold. Don’t get me wrong, I love working from home, but it’s not all fun and games.

From the money front – All of the finds this Wednesday came on the evening walk with Lexi. The first discovery was in the rite aid parking lot (1 dime). Then, I picked up 2 pennies at the high school and one penny behind Memorial Gym. The final 2 cents came on the way home on Main Street. Michele didn’t find anything on her morning walk and I didn’t have any extra time today for a bike ride so I guess I should feel lucky. I’ll see what tomorrow brings.

New Milestone!

Today we found 52 cents and 47 bottles and cans.

Well, as of yesterday, we officially topped the 150-dollar mark for the year. It’s been fun hitting the streets day in day out in search of the elusive dropped/lost coins and any other interesting or valuable item we’ve come across. I’d just like to take a minute and thank all of the very generous residents of the Springvale/Sanford area and all of the other outsiders that contributed to the daily fund!

That being said, we went about our daily routine in hopes of adding to the total; we weren’t disappointed. The first 2 finds of the day came on my run, 11 cents (1 dime and 1 penny) found on Riverbank and Mill respectively. Then during the evening walk, I picked up 41 cents, the first coin came at the rite aid parking lot (1 nickel), then at the car wash I picked up 17 cents (1 dime, 1 nickel and 2 pennies). The rest of the coins were found at the high school, 24 cents in the form of 2 dimes, and 4 pennies. It’s nice to see that cash cow producing once again!

Steady As She Goes!

Today we found 78 cents and 58 bottles and cans.

Monday proved to be another excellent day of continued coin finding. Michele found 26 cents on her morning walk with Lexi (1 quarter and 1 penny). On the evening walk I managed to retrieve 50 cents. The first find came in the rite aid parking lot (1 penny), and then at the car wash I found 37 cents (3 dimes, 1 nickel and 2 pennies). Finally, on the way up Main Street headed home I found 12 cents (1 dime and 2 pennies).

The other 2 pennies of the day came when Michele went on her evening run (1 penny), and below the checkout counter at Hannaford’s (1 penny).

Sidebar – Cap Update – I’m still hard at it in Coke and Power Aid promotions. As of 9/11/06, the totals are 1113 points for the coke rewards and 174 for power aid. The dr. pepper promotion expired on Aug 31st as well as the Lipton Tea bike giveaway. I still have many more caps to redeem for both the coke rewards (bottomless bag of coke caps) and power aid. By the time this they end we should have something fairly decent.

Deviating From The Norm!

Today we found 18 cents and 283 bottles and cans.

Most days we usually start our walk from the house, but on this Sunday, we decided to drive down to the ssya field and start our walk from there. Before starting out, we let Lexi chase the ball for bit on the field, and in doing so rounded up all the bottles and cans from the football games, which took place earlier in the afternoon. There’s always a good load to be had so we bagged them all up and then started out for our walk.

Our first coin finds came at the Junior High School where we found 2 pennies in the parking lot. After that, we found 1 penny near the Memorial Gym. The last 13 cents (1 dime and 3 pennies) came at the car wash. The remaining 2 cents of the total were found on Michele’s morning walk with Lexi. She found one penny on Pleasant Street and one penny at the Depot.

Adding To The Fund!

Today we found 1.66 in bills and coin and 42 bottles and cans.

Lately, it seems like we can do no wrong when on the search for money. No matter where we go, or what we do, there always seems to be bills or coins lying around. Take today for instance. Michele started out the Saturday with a morning walk with Lexi. While out on the roads she scooped up 8 cents, all pennies in various places on the streets and parking lots. Then, we had some errands to do, one of which was to find a new cow hoof for little pup pup. While purchasing one at Agway, I found a dollar bill folded up on the floor next to the counter.

A little while later we decided to go out for a run together. It doesn’t happen that often because our schedules are so different, then add to the fact that I’m much further along in my training than Michele is. Anyway, during our 2 plus miler, we found a total of 22 cents; 5 pennies were found on Grove Street, 1 on Main, and 16 cents (1 dime, 1 nickel, and 1 penny) on Frost Street. Finally, during our evening walk with Lexi, we found 36 cents, 35 of which came from the car wash (1 quarter and 10 pennies), and one penny on Main Street.

Caps, Coins and Bottles!

Today we found 35 cents and 47 bottles and cans.

It was another profitable day on the streets of Sanford and Springvale. Michele started it out with one penny on her walk with Lexi, which came on Mill Street. Later on, while going to get gas for the truck in the early afternoon, I stopped at the Springvale car wash. I only picked up one penny but I did nap close to 30 bottles and cans.

After traveling over to Waterboro to watch the field hockey game (final was 2-2 in double overtime), We stopped in to Famous Pizza for a couple of grinders because it was late. We didn’t find any coins there but we did go for a late night walk with Lexi together because she didn’t get in her walk earlier. During the walk we found 22 cents in the rite aid parking lot (2 dimes and 2 pennies), and 11 cents at the 7-11 (1 dime and 1 penny), plus another dozen or so bottles and cans.

Sidebar – While returning a large load of bottles and cans at the recycling center, Mona had a bag of coke caps set aside for me. I’d say there’s somewhere in the area of between 75 and 100 caps. Thank you, Mona!

Pennies, Pennies, Everywhere!

Today we found 33 cents and 44 bottles and cans.

You always hear the cliché “ a penny saved is a penny earned”. Well, today was a perfect indication of that as all of the finds today were of the penny variety. Michele started the day with 2 pennies on her early morning walk with Lexi. Then, I found one penny on my run, right next to the social club.

During the evening walk, I picked up 12 cents. The first find of one penny came at the rite aid parking lot. After that, the final 11 cents came from the car wash. Michele finished up the day with 18 cents on run. All of the pennies were in a 10-foot stretch on Payne Street. Maybe tomorrow will be an all quarter day!

Back To Normal!

Today we found 52 cents and 22 bottles and cans.

After a super busy day yesterday, it felt good to get a good night’s sleep and recharge the batteries. I really hate running around with my head cut off and having no time to relax. Needless to say, the rest did wonders and I feel almost back to normal.

On the money the front – My first find of the day was a penny, which I found while getting gas at Cumberland Farms. I also got my truck inspected at Midas while I was at it. On the evening walk with Lexi I found 3 cents, one at the car wash, one at the 7-11 and one at the High School. The remaining coins came on my late night bike ride. I snatched up 51 cents in front of Luigi’s Pizza and one penny in the rite aid parking lot.

The Streak Is Over!

Today we found 12 cents and 21 bottles and cans.

Well, our run of dollar plus days came to an end on Tuesday. Not that I expected it to continue for long though it was good while it lasted. Michele found 2 cents on her walk with Lexi this morning. I was up early, too, probably too early as I’m dragging ass right now with 4 hours of sleep and no time to catch a nap during the day. Between having our driveway paved, taking the cat to the vets, and watching Mustangs first field hockey game (a win over Portland), there just wasn’t time to catch my breath.

Anyway, I did manage to find a couple of pennies on my early morning bike ride into downtown Sanford to register my car. Both were on Main Street in the direction of my destination. The other finds came on the evening walk, a single penny found at the skateboard park, and 7 cents (1 nickel and 2 pennies) that Michele found in and around Wal-Mart. I’m going to bed now.

There’s Silver On Them There Streets!

Today we found 1.15 in change and 71 bottles and cans.

Good evening to all of my fellow change finders. With everyone in holiday mode I wasn’t sure if I would have much luck out on the streets of Springvale today. However, I couldn’t have been any more wrong if I tried. In fact, today was a great day and produced more than just loot and returnables (see pictures).

While Monday didn’t start out so good (Michele’s walk yielded nothing), the evening walk more than made up for the lack of currency finds earlier in the day. Lexi and I went out solo for our walk because Michele had field hockey practice. Things were pretty quiet until we hit the car wash, that’s when all hell broke loose. We snatched up 95 cents, 2 quarters, 3 dimes, 1 nickel, and 10 pennies. All of the finds were scattered about on the ground and some on the islands. In addition, I also found a women’s silver necklace, .925 to be exact. If I keep finding jewelry like this, pretty soon I’m going to have to open a pawnshop!

The remaining 2 coins, a dime, which was also found on the evening walk, and then, another dime found in the rite aid parking lot on my semi-late bike ride.

A Huge Coin Dropping Sunday!

Today we found 3.17 in change and 29 bottles and cans.

Today it seemed that there was more than rain falling from the skies on this gloomy Sunday. Coins were stacked up all over the place during our travels, and we took full advantage on this holiday weekend (see picture).

Michele started out the scoring with 22 cents on her extended walk with Lexi. The first penny came on Mill, then 1 on Payne, 1 on Sherburne, 5 or Railroad Ave, 12 cents at the Depot, one at the back entrance of the high school and one on Water Street. Shortly after that, she went out for her run and found 25 cents in the form of a quarter.

During the afternoon we decided to go shopping because of the lousy weather and managed to pick up one penny in the Demoulas parking lot. We got a really good deal on some rib-eye steaks as well, yum, yum!

The mother-load of coins came during our evening walk. We picked up 8 cents on Main (1 nickel and 3 pennies), and then we snatched up a whopping 2.57 from the car wash (lots of silver and pennies). On our way home we hit the 7-11 and found 3 pennies, then finished up the finds with one penny on Kirk Street.

Before The Storm!

Today we found 1.31 in change and 42 bottles and cans.

With the remnants of Ernesto headed our way, we tried to make the most our coin finding adventures. Michele found 2 cents on her walk with Lexi this morning but I didn’t get the details on where she found them, and she’s fast asleep as it’s slightly after 2 am here.

During our evening walk is where we hit the jackpot. Our first find came in the form of a dime which was found in the rite aid parking lot. Next, at the car wash, we hauled in 91 cents, (3 quarters, 16 pennies). Most of it was scattered about on the ground and the islands. We then found a quarter on Main Street and one penny on the corner of Oak. The remaining two cents were found at Shaws supermarket and the 7-11.

Starting Off With A Bang!

Today we found 76 cents and 46 bottles and cans.

We started off the month in good fashion. There was a generous amount of loot to be found and an adequate number of cans and bottles as well.

Michele started out the day with a single find of a nickel out on her walk with Lexi. She hasn’t really been scoring much out on those early morning walks lately. I’m sure that will change, though. While she was at practice, I went out on a bike ride in the early afternoon. My only finds came at the Depot where I found 11 cents, one dime and one penny.

On the evening walk with our pup pup, we hit it pretty good. Our first find came at the rite aid parking lot (one penny). Then at the car wash, we picked up 34 cents, 2 dimes and 14 pennies. We wrapped it up with 26 cents just up from key bank on Main Street, 1 quarter and one penny. Hopefully, the rest of September will be as profitable as today was.

Sidebar – Business sales have been booming over the last few days. I sold 2 big-ticket items for 800 and 1300 respectively. I also had half a dozen lesser sales as well. Looks like Christmas shopping may already be underway!
