Tough Sledding Into The New Year!

Today we found 35 cents in change and 11 bottles and cans.

The coin finding conditions were rather challenging this Monday. Last night at this time a front moved in which started off as freezing rain, then eventually turned to all rain. The problem was that it put a coat of ice on everything this morning and lasted well into the afternoon. The old sand trucks were out in full-force but we needed ice skates for the sidewalks.

Needless to say, this made coin finding very difficult. However, we did have a little luck on the evening walk with Lexi. As we were on our way up Main Street headed home, Michele picked out a quarter in the snow near a couple of candy wrappers. It was a really nice snag. The other coins of the day came a little bit later while at Hannaford’s to pick up a couple of items. First, I found a dime near one of the checkout counters, and then, on my way out I found a 5 pence coin in the return slot of the coin star machine. Yes folks, I finally found a coin in a coin star machine! Hooray!

Good Night and Good Hunting!
