Change In Many Places!

Today we found 71 cents in change and 25 bottles and cans.

Everything was coming up rosy on this Tuesday with regard to change finding. The dry weather, along with the lack of snow, coupled with the holiday rush is really paying dividends. Michele got things going by finding a dime while at work. She found it headed out to her car after school. I also picked up a penny at Cumberland Farms while getting gas. It was on the ground right next to the truck.

A little later on, Michele went out for her run (mine yielded nothing) and she found a single penny, this time it was recovered on Allen Street. The rest of the change came via the evening walk with Lexi. First, we picked up 3 cents at the car wash. Next, at the high school, we scored another 26 cents (1 quarter and 1 penny). On the way of the high school, at the end of Sanford Boulevard we found 2 pennies near the curb of the road. Then, coming up Main Street we found a penny right next to Unicel. The final 27 cents came at Luigi’s. We found 2 dimes and 7 pennies scattered about on the sidewalk. We actually had to back up a couple of times to get the right light angle to see them all. Thank you residents of Springvale and Sanford for your gracious donations.

Good Night and Good Hunting!

It seems to me that these revenues are not enough to pay for a living. Do you have a fulltime job in looking for coins and bottles, and writing about it in a language that raises suspicion that you could get a good job? Anyway, it's nothing of my business, everybody his way. Maybe you can sell your postings as "conceptual art" (profitable nowadays).

Erik, you are correct. My full time job is buying and selling graded vintage sports cards.

I look for coins as a hobby, really. I look at it this way, when I'm out walking with the dog, getting in a run or just running errands, why not pick the change I see. It's free, it's interesting and it adds to my bottom line.

Best,

Jim

Andy, I'm sure there were many people who've seen coins like this and thought about it, then said, "it's only a penny, or a nickel or a dime". I say, "thank you very much".

Best,

Jim
