Jackpot!

Today we found 4.92 in change and 25 bottles and cans.

The coin gods were definitely shining down on us on Saturday. Things did start off a bit slowly though as Michele only came up with 4 cents on walk with Lexi. The pennies were found on Mill, Pleasant, and Allen Streets, respectively.

In the afternoon, we needed to do some grocery shopping so we headed over to the Somersworth Demoulas to get our ham and all the fixings for our Easter dinner tomorrow. On the way back we stopped by the off-price outlet, where we found an additional 3 cents. Michele also snagged a penny at Walmart.

The evening walk delivered the mother load as we scored big with a total of 4.54 in coin. First we found a nickel on Main Street, and then hit a homerun with 4.49 found at the car wash. It was mixture of silver and pennies scattered in a big pile on the ground. It took us several minutes to pick them all up and we kept missing one here and one there. We’ve had bigger finds there but this one ranks right up there for sure.

The remaining 30 cents (1 quarter and 1 nickel) were found in the Cumberland Farms parking lot, where we stopped to pick up a couple of power ball tickets for tonight’s drawing.
