Out Of The Ordinary!
Today we found 4 cents and 27 bottles and cans.
Wednesday was far from ordinary here at “One Coin At A Time”. While we did find a few coins during the day’s journeys, we also came across a few other interesting items. Things as usual started off with Michele’s walk with our Lexi, and once again she was able to find a single penny. That makes 2 days in row for her!
Prior to our evening walk, we went into town and took in the Western Maine Final field hockey game, matching hometown Sanford against Gorham. We had both teams ranked as the top two earlier in the month and sure enough, each made it through the semi’s to enable the western championship tilt. Gorham took a 1-0 lead into the half. Then, in the second half, Sanford tied the score off a penalty corner with about 10 minutes left. We thought it was headed to overtime but Gorham drove down the field in a sudden flurry, forcing the goalie to come out and challenge the shot, which she did by deflecting it to the left. The problem was, in the doing that she caught a stick and was down and out. Play does stop unless that player is in danger and that wasn’t the case. Gorham was able to redirect the ball in front of the net and score with about 1 minute to go, and the rest is history. I must say it was a tough loss for Sanford, but inside I was happy for Gorham.
Ok, now on to the evening walk. We were able to find a total of 3 cents. The first coin was found near the Springvale Post Office, just slightly out in the road. The other 2 pennies were found at the car wash, both on the ground near the vacuums. The highlight though was the finding of 2 nice ceramic picture frames and one good-looking 4 post wooden coat hanger. I did also snag about a dozen 04/05 Upper Deck Basketball cards as well. If we don’t find a use for the new frames or coat hanger, we’ll add them to the yard sale pile.
Over and Out!
