Welcome to the dog days!

Well it seems that August is taking it's cue from July. Another blazing hot humid day here in Maine and over that last couple of weeks I've had about all I take. Unfortunately, tommorrow is supposed to be right around 100, the record here is 101 I think. After that, one day at 90 and downhill from there. It can't come soon enough for me though.

On the money front, we found 55 cents and 29 bottles. I had to get my hair cut today so that didn't allow time for an evening walk, not that I was really looking forward to it in this heat, but Michele did fit in short 45 minute walk with Lexi this morning and found most of the day's catch. First off was a dime in a parking lot on the corner of Mill and Main Street. Then a penny in front of the Mill Street Market followed by a quarter a few houses down. She then snagged a dime on Allen and penny on George. The last 2 pennies came in front of the social club and one in the rite aid parking lot. She also went to Somerworth to have Subaru serviced and found 5 additional pennies on her walk. The last coin was found at the car wash, which by the way seems to be attracting some new coin seekers. We usually find quite a bit of loot there but lately its been slow. The garbage cans were ransacked, too. Someone looking for bottles no doubt. Don't they know whose turf they're on. This car wash is only big enough for 2 people and that's us, so back off winos! There's a new sherriff in town!
