Hibernation!

Today we found 17 cents in change and 28 bottles and cans.

If you a take a step outside out our house tonight you’ll know exactly how bad a Maine winter night in January can be. It’s currently a frigid 10 degrees with a gentle 14 mph breeze giving it a wind chill of –2, simply lovely.

Needless to say, we decided against the evening walk and went out for Chinese instead. It was definitely a much better choice. We did however have some success finding coins. While at Renaissance Cards we snagged 11 cents in the form of a dime and a penny. The dime was under the counter and the penny was nearby. Then, we stopped by the car wash later on and found another 6 cents (1 nickel and 1 penny). Both coins were found near the vacuum areas on the ground. Bottles were also at a premium as we picked up many there as well.
